After 15 years, they’re not on a break anymore. According to a press release from Warner Media, to kick off the launch of streaming service HBO Max, an exclusive unscripted special is bringing the stars of the landmark TV show “Friends” back together for a long-awaited reunion. All six original main cast members will join in the new special. The special will be directed by Ben Winston and executive produced by Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane, as well as a handful of the actors. The series, which has won a Golden Globe, several Primetime Emmy’s and People’s Choice Awards, focuses on the ups and downs of a tight-knit circle of friends living in Manhattan. The popular characters and storyline kept audiences laughing from 1994 to 2004, and streaming services have allowed a new generation of viewers to binge whole seasons at a time. Although “Friends” left Netflix in December, all 236 episodes of the series will be available for HBO Max subscribers.
