Governor Baker to speak at commencement

Governor Charlie Baker will be the College of Arts and Sciences’ commencement speaker, the university announced Thursday evening.

Baker will be given an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree for his contributions to Massachusetts during the ceremony on May 17 at the Blue Hills Bank Pavillion.  He was sworn in as governor on Jan. 8.

Suffolk will announce speakers for the Law School and Sawyer Business School in the coming week, a university spokesman said.

Baker spoke at Suffolk during a series of round tables for gubernatorial candidates in 2014.
