The Democratic Party does not actually care about democracy as they claim.
The 2024 Presidential Election has been the most unpredictable and objectively fascinating election cycle in the history of global politics. On one side of the aisle is the 45th president, Donald Trump. Trump has been dominating the news cycle since leaving office, but in this election cycle, he clinched his party’s nomination without attending a single primary debate, he has become a convicted felon, been shot, received an endorsement from a Kennedy as well as the former Vice Chair of the DNC and was nearly shot a second time.
Despite all of this, Trump is still virtually tied with the Democratic Party nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris.
For those who have been living under a rock, Harris took the reins from Joe Biden back in July, when the president dropped out just four weeks after his poor debate performance against Trump that left his reelection bid looking like the Hindenburg disaster.
This means Harris received the Democratic nomination without earning a single vote in the primaries. In fact, Harris dropped out months before the 2020 Democratic Iowa caucus, which means she has never received a single vote for president ever.
So why did the Democrats have to scramble at the last minute to convince President Biden to drop out right before the convention so Kamala could get the nod? Why don’t the Democrats have a deeper bullpen?
Perhaps it could be because the self-proclaimed ‘party of democracy’ has rigged two of the last three primaries, in 2016 and 2024 respectively.
In 2016, the Democratic Party was in the process of trying to find Barack Obama’s successor, and six candidates decided to throw their hats in the ring to make a run for the nation’s highest office. These candidates were former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee, Lawrence Lessig, former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
However, the primary was rigged in favor of Hillary Clinton in 2016. Donna Brazile was fired by CNN in 2016 because she was caught giving Hillary Clinton debate questions ahead of time, allowing her to prepare her answers, which astroturfed Clinton’s intelligence and preparedness. Additionally, according to Brazile, Clinton also essentially took over the party’s funds before she even became the nominee.
In 2020, it is believed by some, particularly Bernie Sanders and his supporters on the left, that former President Barack Obama rallied support around Biden to prevent Sanders from winning the nomination. There is no concrete proof that would substantiate these claims.
The 2016 Democratic primary is a disturbing example of the undemocratic nature of the left. However, 2024 proves to be a far more disgusting, unsettling example because the rigged primary was blatantly obvious to anybody who paid even the slightest bit of attention to the primaries.
While there were a number of candidates who attempted to challenge President Biden, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was the most prominent of them all, and despite this, he was not even allowed to put up a fight.
The Democratic National Committee fixed the primary for Biden in a number of ways. He party did not host a single primary debate for any of the candidates, they changed the primary schedule to prevent New Hampshire from having its long-standing ‘first in the nation’ primary, and as the Washington Examiner reported, any challengers to President Biden in the states of Indiana, Alaska, Ohio, Mississippi, North Carolina and Montana were blocked from the ballots entirely.
In those states,17% of the country’s population were disenfranchised entirely by the ‘party of democracy’, and now they are left with a candidate that literally not a single person voted for.
While the Democratic Party may believe their fixture of the primary process has gone unnoticed, this is far from the case. Even some of Trump’s most staunch critics from the past have rallied behind him in the defense of democracy, including Tulsi Gabbard, RFK Jr., Elon Musk, and his running mate, J.D. Vance.
The Democratic Party has shown the American People who they truly are, and if they are not careful, they will be in for a rude awakening on Nov. 5.
