We at the Journal have fierce and upstanding opinions regarding almost everything in the world. We have something to say about politics, complaints about the government, rants about the law, ideas for the university, you name it. But alas, tonight we sit here in our office (finished with production early, may we add) and find that we don’t know what to write about. We’ve come into contact the dreaded writers’ block. The beast that ravages the minds of writers and destroys any good idea they may (or may not) have.

…Stupid writers’ block.

We’ve debated for almost an hour now. Ideas have been tossed left and right. Some have been serious. For instance, we considered writing about politics… again. But we’ve also entertained the ridiculous, like writing on our nostalgia, like old 90s cartoons. We thought about writing about Four Loko, but that’s next week’s issue. And then there are the housing issues regarding the North End, Beacon Hill and college kids, which is also up and coming next week. We’ve thought about everything. Yet, still… nothing comes to mind that’s really worth it. So, what now?

Ultimately, we’ve decided to write on absolutely nothing this week. We suppose that says something in itself. Although college is a time where students are preparing themselves for the real world, we also need to realize that all work and no play leads to a pretty miserable existence, don’t you think? Although it is important to stay in touch with what’s happening in the world and to have a voice, sometimes it’s nice to just relax and watch what happens next. So for once, the Journal doesn’t have anything to gripe about this week. Nothing insane has come to our attention. Life is good. We’re just taking the time to stop and smell the daisies.

Next week, however, I’m sure something will catch our eye and we’ll have something good to say about it.

Writers block can be quite the curse, but it always reminds us of one thing: …unfortunately , since we have writers’ block right now, we can’t remember…  we’ll get back to you on that one. See you next week!
