During a closed door Board of Trustees meeting tucked in the corner of the 12th floor of 73 Tremont St., the Board elected two new trustee members from both the alum and international business sphere.

According to an email that was sent to the Suffolk community on Friday morning, Chairman of Suffolk University’s Board Robert Lamb introduced Maria DiPietro, the current vice president of global operations for General Electric and Nancy Stack, who is the program manager for Pinck & Co. Inc.

“[Both women] bring exceptional expertise and leadership experience to the Board as well as a strong commitment to Suffolk and an understanding of its importance to this region,” wrote Lamb in the email.

DiPietro, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and then MBA from the Sawyer Business School, will serve as a charter trustee.

Stack earned her Masters in Education degree in adult and organizational learning and her masters in city planning and bachelor’s degree in sociology, according to the press release. Stack will represent the College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) on the Board as she has previously served as vice president of the CAS Alumni Board.

“These two women recognize Suffolk’s importance in Boston and beyond, and I am eager to work with them as they bring new expertise and perspectives to the Board of Trustees and work to further strengthen Suffolk University,” said Acting President Marisa Kelly in a press release sent by the Board of Trustees.

With these two new additions, the Board now consists of 26 members- 10 of them being women, according to the Suffolk website.
