Whoa There…Homecoming Events!!!

Hello Lovely People!!  So the events I’m posting here are going to be Homecoming events !! I’ll put an asterisk on the events that are not Homecoming ones so there is no confusion (basically it’s just Tuesday).  Have a great week & enjoy Homecoming!!! Tuesday 10/21

NOON: Movie Tickets! Get free tickets to Gone Girl today at the SLI Office (Donahue 430) & then go watch the movie on Wednesday night!!

Activities Period: CLUBS! CLUBS! CLUBS! Okay, if you have not gone to a club meeting at least once this semester, make it a goal to go in to a meeting for information, and see if you would be interested.

Wednesday 10/22

6:30pm: Movie Night! Stop by Student Leadership & Involvement office (Donahue 430) @ noon to get FREE TICKETS to Gone Girl!!  The tickets are for the AMC Lowes Boston Common movie theater, and thee first 100 guests to get tickets will also get a snack pack & blanket!!

7pm: WGBH’s Innovation HUB LIVE with Kara Miller! Go to the Modern Theatre to listen to Kara Miller discuss whether technology is empowering people who work in small groups or as individuals & then are bought from corporations. For example; Instagram.

 

Thursday 10/23

12-1:30pm: Brown Bag Career Luncheon; Stocking Your Career Toolkit! Attend this working lunch to learn what essential items you need in your career toolkit & how to use them effectively; a Brown Bag lunch will be included.  This will take place in 120 Tremont St, Sargent Hall, 4th floor (faculty dining room).

1-2:30pm: Welcome Back Hoof Pack! Kick-Off  Homecoming 2014 with Program Council during Rammy Extravaganza!! You can take pictures with Rammy himself, enjoy snacks, & make your own FREE Rammy stuffed animal !!! This will take place in the Donahue Cafe

4-5pm: Guided Tour Crytogram! Anyone is welcome for a guided tour through the interdisciplinary exhibit Crytogram: New Works by Brian Knep and Natalie Andrew.  Knep & Andrew are artist/scientists who will share their working process & the relationship between art & science.  There will be refreshments served after the tour! This will take place at Suffolk University Gallery, 75 Arlington Street!

6pm: Senior & Alumni Trivia! (21+ event)  Alumni & seniors will square off against faculty & family members in a true test of knowledge at this favorite Suffolk Hangout! Location for this is at the Red Hat, 9 Bowdoin Street!

7-11pm: Campus Crawl Trivia Night! Crawl through campus residence halls with fellow Suffolk students on a fun night of trivia; there will be lots of giveaways, food, & laughs! The crawl commences at Miller Hall!

 

Friday 10/24

8-9:30am: Moakley Breakfast!  Hear David Paleologos, Director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center, on Massachusetts Leading the National Agenda Don’t Sit This Election Out! This will take place @ 120 Tremont St, Sargent Hall on the 1st floor function room!

10am-5pm: Homecoming Check-In & Information! Pick up your pre-registered event information and receive your welcome packet at Homecoming HQ.  Volunteers will answer any questions! Location for this is in Donahue Lobby @ The HUB!

5pm: Homecoming Welcome Celebration! Join the entire Suffolk Community for the weekend’s official kickoff event that celebrates the best of Suffolk University!! Location; Omni Parker House, 60 School Street, 2nd floor!

8-9:45pm: Fall Fest Show One! Fall Fest is a fun filled musical extravaganza with students, faculty, alumni, and staff performing.  This year is the 40th anniversary for Fall Fest! Come early so you can secure a seat!! Location; C. Walsh Theatre!

 

Saturday 10/25

11:30am-1:30pm: Performing Arts Office (PAO) Brunch! Join the PAO family for brunch on Saturday morning; you can meet Fall Fest performers, & learn about the arts at Suffolk!! Refreshments will be served in Donahue on the 4th Floor!

12:30-2pm: Duck Boat Boston Tour! If you haven’t already, join Suffolk students for a duck boat tour around Boston!! Remember to buy your ticket online, everyone is meeting at the State House steps!

2:30-3:45pm: Fall Fest Show Two! The second show for Fall Fest will take place in the C. Walsh Theatre! Stop by and watch the show if you could not make it the first night, or enjoy it for a second night!!

7-10pm: Suffolk Night at the Museum! Come to the Boston Children’s Museum, 308 Congress Street, and celebrate the Suffolk University community!! There will be a variety of activities, and Suffolk’s student performing groups will be entertaining!! Refreshments will be served, and dance floor will be available!!

 

Sunday 10/26

 9:30-11am: Farewell Brunch with President Smith & Rammy! Say “until next time” over brunch while sampling performances & visual art by various campus groups.  Take advantage of this last opportunity to get your picture taken with Hiram the Ram!! Location; 150 Tremont Street, 1st Floor!!
